Gold Medalist Michael Johnson Says Blacks Are Better Athletes Due To Slavery

Michael Johnson

African-American Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson, who set world records in track and field, stated blacks are better athletes due to slavery. Johnson stated during an interview in Britain, "All my life ... I believed I became an athlete through my own effort and determination, but it's impossible to think that being descended from slaves hasn't left an imprint through the generations. Difficult as it was to hear, slavery has benefited descendants like me ... I believe there is a superior athletic gene in us. Over the last few years, athletes of Afro-Caribbean and Afro-American descent have dominated athletics finals. It's a fact that hasn't been discussed openly before. It's a taboo subject in the States but it is what it is. Why shouldn't we discuss it?"

I've wondered about that myself. Many black-Americans and Afro-Caribbeans have excelled at athletics. One blog challenged Johnson's point by citing white American gold medalist swimmer, Michael Phelps, who dominated during the 2008 Olympics. I beg to differ. May I point to the evidence. Michael Phelps was caught smoking weed. So technically, that makes him a black man (LOL just teasing). That's right. We're claiming Phelps. He was hitting the weed like a rasta. You're Team Black now Phelps (wink).

One thing I know, regardless of what country you come from, if you see an African register for the long distance marathons, may as well withdraw (LOL). Africans dominate in this field, much like white people shut things down in gymnastics. So, who's to say who is best. One thing we all can agree on, the Olympics are a great time to come together as a world and put our differences aside.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA PASSES NY ASSEMBLY

****
Medical Marijuana Plan Passes Assembly

"It's Cruel to Deny Treatment to Patients Who are Suffering" Says Gottfried
****

 Medical Marijuana

The following e-mail was sent to us by Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard N. Gottfried. We applaud the work he does, not only on this issue, but so many other issues that make New York a better place.

Patients suffering from serious debilitating or life-threatening conditions could be treated with medical marijuana under medical supervision under a bill overwhelmingly passed by the Assembly on Wednesday, June 13. The bill has substantial support among the medical community, patient groups, and religious organizations. Seventeen states and the District of Columbia have laws that allow medical use of marijuana, with Connecticut being the most recent to sign it into law on June 1.

"If the patient and physician agree that the patient's serious debilitating or life-threatening condition should be treated with medical marijuana, the government should not stand in the way," said Gottfried. "It is cruel to deny treatment to patients who are suffering or to turn them into criminals."

The plan approved by the Assembly "would be one of the most restrictive medical marijuana laws in the country," Gottfried said. "It is modeled on the law we apply to highly dangerous and addictive drugs like morphine or oxycodone, but even tighter."

"To watch someone you love fight to live through the agony of the pain without any relief is too hard to bear. Medical marijuana can help ease this suffering," said Geri Barish, a Nassau County cancer survivor and mother whose son used medical marijuana before he succumbed to cancer. "Knowing that a doctor could provide safe and legal access to medical marijuana in a controlled environment will give patients with severe illnesses in New York State hope."

New York's bill, A7347-B/S7283-A, introduced by Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard N. Gottfried and Senate Children and Families Committee Chair Diane J. Savino, has the bi-partisan support of over 50 other legislators. "This is long overdue," said Gottfried, noting that this is the 16th year he has introduced a medical marijuana bill in the Assembly.

Under the bill, a licensed health care professional who is authorized to prescribe controlled substances would certify the patient's need for marijuana for treatment of a serious debilitating or life-threatening condition. The certified patient then registers with the Department of Health. The marijuana would be purchased from a specially registered and regulated hospital or pharmacy.

"As an attorney and a person actively involved with civic affairs, I work very hard to uphold the law," said Jamin Sewel, a Bronx resident who was diagnosed with MS ten years ago. "I would like to thank the Assembly for recognizing the thousands of New Yorkers like myself who are living with serious and debilitating conditions for which medicinal marijuana can provide relief."

THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, has been approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration and Drug Enforcement Agency in synthetic pill form since 1986. THC in pill form, which is legal in New York, commonly delivers a larger dose than the patient needs or can tolerate. There is substantial medical judgment that consuming marijuana naturally makes it easier to control the dosage and symptoms are easier to manage. The bill would allow use of the natural form of marijuana.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has stated that the federal government will not interfere in states with medical marijuana laws unless both state and federal laws were broken.

"This is sensible, strict, and humane legislation. The fact that Arizona, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and New Jersey and over a dozen other states allow this while it's still illegal in New York is political correctness run amok, at the expense of the suffering of thousands of New Yorkers," Gottfried added.

Under appropriate professional care like other drugs, marijuana has important therapeutic use for many seriously ill patients. In an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2004, the Lymphoma Foundation of America, the HIV Medicine Association, and the American Medical Students Association said: "For certain persons, the medical use of marijuana can literally mean the difference between life and death."

A Siena poll released in May of this year, found a "strong majority" of New Yorkers support the legalization of the use of medical marijuana 57%-33%. When polled two years ago, the proposal was supported 50%-41%.

Medical marijuana legislation has the support of a broad array of health and other organizations, including:

Medical Society of the State of New York
New York State Nurses Association
Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State
Pharmacists Society of the State of New York
Statewide Senior Action Council
Gay Men's Health Crisis
New York AIDS Coalition
New York State AIDS Institute Advisory Council
Oncology Nursing Association (New York State chapter)
Association of the Bar of the City of New York
AmericanAcademy of HIV Medicine
AFSCME District Council 37
Housing Works
Latino Commission on AIDS
Family Services Network of New York Inc.
Drug Policy Alliance
Compassion & Choices of New York
Gray Panthers, NYC Network
National Lawyers Guild, NYC Chapter

Nationally, allowing the medical use of marijuana is supported by the American Public Health Association, the American Bar Association, and the Lymphoma Foundation of America, among others. The medical use of marijuana is recognized by the American Medical Association and the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Science.

GOV. COUMO FIGHTS UNFAIR MARIJUANA LAWS

Scott D. Levy

We find it insane that New Yorkers still get charged with little marijuana offences. The money spent and the lives ruined is horrible. Read below the news story that NORML sent us. We applaud Gov. Andrew Coumo for fighting this injustice. We knew when we elected him, that he was fair and understanding just like his parents. Having met just about the whore family, the saying "The apple does not fall far from the tree" rings true here.

FROM THE DESK OF NORML

Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo has endorsed a legislative effort to equalize marijuana possession penalties, regardless of whether the cannabis is possessed in private or in public view. Governor Cuomo announced his support at a press conference on Monday. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly are also backing the effort.

Under state law, the private possession of up to 25 grams of marijuana is a non-criminal civil citation, punishable by a $100 fine. By contrast, the possession of any amount of cannabis in public view is a criminal misdemeanor [NY State Penal Law 221.10].

In 2011, New York City law enforcement spent $75 million arresting approximately 50,000 minor marijuana offenders under Penal Law 221.10. Many of these offenders had marijuana on their person, and only revealed the cannabis publicly after being ordered by police to empty their pockets during 'stop-and-frisk' searches. According to the Governor's office, 94 percent of arrests for small amounts of marijuana in the state are in New York City. Over 85 percent of those charged were either African American or Latino.

Governor Cuomo said that the present law is "incongruous" and "disproportionately" effects black and Hispanic youth.

Pending bipartisan legislation - Senate Bill 5187 and Assembly Bill 7620 - would equalize minor marijuana possession penalties to a non-criminal, fine-only offense. According to the Associated Press, Cuomo's proposal differs slightly from these measures because it would retain criminal misdemeanor penalties for cannabis smoking in public.

State lawmakers are expected to be in session for three more weeks.

Last week a coalition of advocacy groups, including ColorOfChange.org and the Drug Policy Alliance, launched an online advocacy campaign featuring video testimonials from people who the campaign says have been illegally searched or falsely charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession in New York City.

New Book States President Barack Obama Couldn't Get Enough Marijuana (Photos)

Barack Obama smoking marijuana

The website Buzz Feed Politics did an article on the new book "Barack Obama: The Story" by David Maraniss. The biography reveals that in high school, U.S. President Barack Obama, was apart of the so-called "Choom Gang." In Hawaii the word "choom" means "to smoke marijuana." The book and other sources indicate, Obama was very greedy with his weed smoking, often cutting in for additional hits when the marijuana spliff was being passed around. What a pothead.

Obama smoking marijuana and looking very high

An except states, "Barry also had a knack for interceptions. When a joint was making the rounds, he often elbowed his way in, out of turn, shouted 'Intercepted!,' and took an extra hit. No one seemed to mind." Obama even thanked the weed smoking "Choom Gang" in his yearbook (never mind he didn't thank his mother). The book also describes the gang as not only smoking marijuana, but drinking beer at the same time as well.

Obama thanks his marijuana gang in his yearbook, but not his mom

Come to think of it, Obama does look stoned in most of his old pictures. Me personally, I think he took a hit before he came up with his health care plan (LOL). Seriously, in light of his extensive drug use, what will he tell his impressionable young daughters Malia and Sasha about the subject now that it has been made public.

Bobby Brown Worried About Drug Rumors Regarding His Daughter With Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown when they were married in the 1990s

R&B singer, Bobby Brown, who is the ex-husband of the late singer, Whitney Houston, is worried about their 19-year-old daughter, in light of her mother's drug overdose in February. Drug rumors and articles have dogged Bobbi Kristina Brown for years, but she has not admitted to any of what has been said or written.

Bobbi Kristina Brown (right) being interviewed by talk show host Oprah Winfrey, who also admitted to battling cocaine addiction

Brown confessed during a recent press interview about Houston's death that he is worried about his daughter in this regard. Both Bobby and Bobbi need extensive rehab to stay on the path of sobriety or they shall pass early as Houston did months ago. There's no way to pretty it up.

Rapper Lil Boosie Gets Off Murder Charges In Deaths Of Rappers But Still Faces 8-Years In Prison

Lil Boosie

Lil Boosie, A/K/A Torrence Hatch, has been acquitted of murder charges in connection with the death of rap music rivals. However, he still faces 8-years in prison, for smuggling drugs into the detention center he has been incarcerated in for the past three years.

Boosie, who is a self-professed drug addict, became famous in 2009, then spectacularly crashed and burned shortly thereafter. His addictions are so out of control, he uploaded a video of him smoking weed in his car, with his very young daughter sitting on the backseat.

Marijuana Or Cocaine - Which Is The Greater Societal Problem

According To Obama's DOJ It Is The Weed

Eric Holder

The Obama Department of Justice, run by error prone Attorney General, Eric Holder, has been coming down hard on marijuana users, as opposed to cocaine takers (Hey, Holder even helped the drug cartels by trafficking them guns using American taxpayer money).

However, when you think about it, which is the greater societal problem - marijuana or cocaine. That should be a no-brainer, provided you have a brain (*looks at Holder wondering with raised brows*). Think about it, has anyone ever died of a weed overdose? Just checking. If so there would be a whole lot of dead rastas.

The Judiciary Report does not seek to promote or condone drug use in any form, but is attempting to make sense of the incumbent government's misguided political policy that is a deadly one. What they should clamp down on, they do not, in favor of pursuing potheads. With so many cocaine overdoses occurring all over the world, the evidence is clear that they are barking up the wrong tree when setting their top priority.

Ganja Granny Arrested At Age 73 For Selling Pounds Of Marijuana To The Public (Video)

Snoop Dogg Needs To Come Get His Grandma!

I Have No Words For This

You know, you wouldn't suspect an adorable 73-year-old granny of selling weed by the pound, but you'd be wrong. Darlene Mayes was arrested in Oklahoma after an undercover officer busted her with $276,000 in cash and 4 pounds of weed (rappers and rastas reading this, stop salivating and or preparing Mayes legal fund to the shouts of "Free Granny").

Darlene Mayes

Apparently, Granny had the block on lock, supplying 40% of the area with weed. I know granny could roll a spliff (joint) with her dentures (now there's a commercial Polygrip didn't see coming). Are you guys sure this isn't Bob Marley or Snoop Dogg's granny, because then this story would make sense. Seriously, someone needs to get grandma into rehab, because I know she was using her product.

The National Enquirer Releases Video Of Whitney Houston's Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown Smoking Marijuana From A Bong At A Party

Bobbi Kristina Brown

The National Enquirer has released a drug video of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 19-year-old daughter of deceased singer, Whitney Houston, smoking marijuana from a bong and drinking copious amounts of alcohol. It is reminiscent of the same vices and addictions that killed her mother on February 11, 2012.

Bobbi Kristina Brown

The article commented on Brown's high tolerance for drugs and alcohol. However, it is the same type of addiction that wore away her mother's heart and contributed to her early death at age 48. The video was reportedly made a year ago and sold to the tabloid for thousands of dollars. Here's hoping Brown gets into an extensive rehab program and gets well, as anything less will sadly mean her life.

Cocaine And Cigarettes Caused Whitney Houston's Throat Problems That Greatly Damaged Her Singing Voice

Damage Began Surfacing On "My Love Is Your Love"

Whitney Houston

The week the late Whitney Houston died, she was suffering from cocaine induced laryngitis, which explains the poor state of her singing voice, while on stage with friend Kelly Price, at a club in Los Angeles, California. It also explains the Amoxicillin antibiotic medication in her hotel room. Cocaine damages vocal cords and nasal passages that constitute a vital part of singing. It also weakens the immune system, opening up users to colds and infections.

The crime scene spoke for itself in the Houston case. The bruises on her head and being found face down in the tub indicated a fall (or at worst being struck, but I'm assuming surveillance tapes revealed no intruders to her hotel suite or it would have been mentioned). The bruises on her forehead should have matched up to a surface of the bathtub.

The cocaine residue, drug spoon and mirror, along with rolling papers found at the scene, coupled with the marijuana detected in her system, indicates Houston was unable to kick her addictive habit of rolling crack cocaine and marijuana in joints and smoking them, as revealed by the singer in 2009, in an interview with talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

Houston also sniffed cocaine when she did not have the time to prepare it in a marijuana joint, hence the hole in her nose, detected by the coroner. Many cocaine users have required reconstructive surgery to rebuild the interiors of their noses, as the drug is so powerful and corrosive it eats the tissue, cartilage, membrane, flesh and skin. Houston also struggled with cigarette smoking, which damages vocal chords and promotes cancer.

Houston was not deliberately trying to destroy her voice, which was an amazing and unique gift from God. She fell in with the wrong people, developed a drug habit and it consumed her. However, I write this not to put her down, because she was one of my favorite singers growing up, as her voice was so astounding and she one of the most beautiful women in the world, that so many young girls such as myself admired. I write this because new singers are coming up now and will be offered drugs by partying loving folks in the entertainment industry, just like Houston was and hopefully this warning will act as a deterrent.

Whitney Houston's Autopsy Report Reveals A Host Of Health Problems And A Damaged Decomposing Body

Whitney Houston

The 42-page autopsy report regarding the death of beautiful singer Whitney Houston is sad and tragic, as years of alcohol, cocaine and cigarettes took a massive toll on her body. The report reveals the Beverly Hilton hotel room she died in had cocaine residue in different places. A small mirror, cocaine spoon and rolling papers were found in the suite.

Houston had been dead for 30-60 minutes before being discovered. Her body was not in a good state, as it had begun to decompose, showing visible "skin slippage." This is a stage of decomposition where the skin literally begins coming off the body in patches. Several inches of skin were missing from Houston's chest, while other areas of her body had minor skin slippage such as the arms, calf and back.

Houston also had pre-mortem contusions on the left side of her head and body, with her forehead showing signs of subcutaneous hemorrhaging (bleeding under the skin). Was it from falling and hitting her head in the bathtub or something else. Seriously, what caused the contusions. Is that why she was found face down in the fairly narrow tub, rather than facing upward. The water in the bathtub was reportedly so hot it scalded her body. The coroner notes Houston had "scald burns" and the temperature of the water in the bathtub was 93.5 degrees. She was bleeding from the nose as well.

It was a dangerous practice Houston had to get high on cocaine and marijuana and while taking hot baths in that state. She also had pharmaceutical drugs in her system, which act as muscle relaxers. Alcohol was present as well. She was completely out of it. There were so many ways she could have died with this level of insobriety (drowning, heart attack, respiratory failure, bumping her head then hemorrhaging to death, choking on regurgitated food).

Did Houston truly know or understand how sick she was, as the coroner's report reveals a host of problems. She had heart disease, with 60% blockage, which is something that needed medical intervention. Houston had emphysema from years of cigarette smoking. Cocaine use was eating away at her nose and vocal abilities ("perforation of nasal septum"). Houston had benign tumors in her breast (along with breast implants). Signs of arthritis were present. She had "bleeding luteal cysts" and fibroids, which create heavy, painful menstrual periods. Houston also had colitis.

In short, she could not have been feeling physically well with the aforementioned health issues. She was using drugs and alcohol to mask the pain, emotional and physical, which is very inadvisable. The presence of extensive upper level dental implants confirms previous reports that drugs had destroyed her teeth. In essence, the body was not meant to take this barrage of abuse. I don't believe she intentionally destroyed herself, but she was clearly addicted, hurting and very overwhelmed.

PUSH STATES TO LEGALIZE ALL MARIJUANA

Marijuana

Once again legislators in Illinois are discussing whether to legalize marijuana for medical purposes. According to State Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie), the sponsor of the bill, he thinks he has the votes for passage in the House. “It will be the best, most restrictive, mostly regulated law in the country,” Lang said. The law would allow people with debilitating medical conditions to smoke marijuana but would limit possession to less than 2.5 ounces, prohibit driving for six hours after smoking the drug, would only be sold in state-licensed highly regulated not-for-profit dispensaries (limiting the outlets to 59—one per senate district) and the program would expire in three years. Think of the new levels of bureaucracy that will have to be created to administer and enforce the law. Insane!

Having penalties, including potential prison time, is not going to discourage anyone from trying to sell medical prescription marijuana on the street anymore than current laws prevent drug activity. The smoking of marijuana should either be totally legal or totally illegal. Just because Illinois would have the most regulated law in the nation, is not enough reason for a legislator to vote Yes.
Alcohol is legal and the only medical benefits are that a glass of wine is good for your heart and can raise your good (HDL) cholesterol levels. Marijuana has been shown to diminish nausea from chemotherapy, lessen symptoms of multiple sclerosis, lessen pain of people suffering form HIV/AIDS and other medical aliments. So if alcohol is lawful, why not marijuana?

I have made my position clear that I hate alcohol, so why do I seem to be supporting the legalization of medical marijuana when I find the drug so repulsive? Simply because it would lead to making marijuana legal for everyone and government could tax the use. Because the bureaucracy and associate costs the passage of the bill would create, I am pro legalization of all marijuana, not just for medical use. If it is legal for everyone, the government would profit. If it is legal just for medial applications then it costs the government money to regulate.

One can either get high or not. If marijuana is legal, it should be legal for everyone over the age of 21; there should not be restrictions on who can use the drug.

And because of fear of the slippery slope that medical usage would lead to wide-spread legalization, Illinois legislators won’t be able to vote, “Yes.“ If people realized the profit for government with legalization, they would be in favor of it. But nobody is thinking about the money; only about the smoke.

Editors Note: I think all my readers know how I feel about the legalization of Marijuana. We spend billions here in New York State arresting and jailing people who smoke weed. With our state budgets in the red, this is the perfect way to save money on prosecuting people who smoke, and at the same time, make tax money. Almost everyone I know smokes Marijuana. When will our straight laced politicians wake up and see that Marijuana makes money. Right now the drug dealers make tax free cash with no benefits to the state. Stop arresting people who smoke and at the same time reap huge tax profits. I guarantee states will go from not having enough money every year, to having more than enough. Wake up America!
