Many Stating Bieber Not Mature Enough On CD

I don't care what anyone says, the fashion police should have arrested Justin Bieber for that outfit!

Critics are split on Justin Bieber's sophomore album "Believe." His fan base is in that phase where they still buy his products, but some critics are labeling the album derivative and stating Bieber is trying too hard to be like other pop singers, such as the late Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake. 

Bieber's voice has changed and so has his sound, in a bid to attract an older audience, but it does not appeared to have worked to cultivate a more grown up image. His very youthful appearance is not the only obstacle to making the transition into musical adulthood.

You ever see a company make a movie thinking it is so cool, but they are the only ones that think that. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing "In Time" starring pop singer, Justin Timberlake. "In Time" is the unoriginal pseudo thriller about people having to buy time in strange ways in order to live.  

The main plot centers around people being forced to have time stamps placed in their hands in order to pay bills and eat. It is reminiscent of themes in the Bible, regarding the mark of the beast, where one is sinfully forced to have a condemnatory number placed on one's forehead or in one's arm, to buy things in the future, in a time where believers are taken to heaven and the anti-Christ temporarily rules the earth. However, the time stamps in "In Time" are the minutes and hours one has to live, with each purchase reducing said life span.

However, that's not what makes "In Time" unoriginal. Some dialogue and other story lines present in the film are very derivative. Timberlake overdoes it in this film and is very affected in the lead role. It makes the move hard to get into or enjoy.

Justin Bieber is currently under police investigation for beating up a photographer that tried to take his picture on a public street. Bieber used to have a squeaky clean image that has been tarnished this year by several events.

He was photographed on a public beach getting lewd and groping his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, who is a Disney actress of all things. He has been giving profane, inappropriate press interviews that appeared in GQ and on the Huffington Post. He's been caught ripping off the copyrighted works of pop star, Justin Timberlake. He's been hanging out with and publicly supporting domestic violence boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Now this latest incident regarding him beating up a paparazzo, has damaged his image even more. Engaging in the aforementioned conduct places Bieber in danger of alienating some of his core audience, whose parents do not take well to such poor examples being presented to their children.

Last week, singer Justin Bieber, 18, sent out cryptic messages on the social networking website Twitter about actress, Selena Gomez, 19, whom he has dated for over a year. It gave the public the impression the two had broken up. Not so, as they were spotted keeping a low profile, kissing after having been apart for a time. 

Bieber is busy readying his second album "Believe" and has face significant criticism for ripping off former NSYNC star, Justin Timberlake, for his first musical outing as an adult. Audiences immediately spotted the similarities between the two Justins' work and accused the younger one of ripping off Timberlake.

So many titles from his new album have the names of songs from the 1980s and 1990s, making the Judiciary Report wonder if the copying has gone much deeper than the Timberlake incident (Bieber's "Die In Your Arms" similar to the 1980s's title "Died In Your Arms" and his "Just As Long As You Love Me" is the same title as that of the Backstreet Boys 1990 song).

If Bieber is not careful and these forthcoming songs are actually similar to other people's works, as in the Timberlake infringement, he could end up getting sued. Mentor and singer, Usher, hasn't helped him in this regard.

Many websites and music lovers have been stating, Justin Bieber's new "Girlfriend" song and video, rip off the earlier work of singer Justin Timberlake and his former boyband, NSYNC, released 10-years prior. Timberlake had it out for Bieber long before the copying surfaced and I am told is secretly seething at what has transpired with the teen star's new project. However, due to entertainment industry politics, will Timberlake bite his tongue or try to bite Bieber's head off.

Bieber has effectively replaced Timberlake on the pop scene, as the new prince of pop and is now using his music and videos to finish him off. I don't know about you, but if Timberlake and Bieber fight, for once the Judiciary Report will not be taking the high road and will publish any videos or photos emanating from the beatdown (just teasing).

Many websites are comparing Justine Bieber's new music video "Boyfriend" to NSYNC's video from 10-years ago "Girlfriend." Even the titles and the sound of the songs are similar. For his transition into adulthood in the music industry, Bieber is being patterned after Justin Timberlake, who previously dissed him on the television show "Saturday Night Live." It was ironic, as Timberlake tried to sign Bieber to a record deal, but Usher beat him to the punch.

Bieber recently stated he has not seen the NYSNC video for "Girlfriend" but lightning is going to strike the little booger for lying. Even I saw a clip of it years ago and I'm not a Timberlake fan (though I did think NSYNC's music was better than his unoriginal solo material). This is not the best way for Bieber to start off his sophomore album, as critics will be brutal over the copying. Trying to make Justin Bieber the new Justin Timberlake is a bad idea for his credibility, as critics look for originality.

Is it just me or does Justin Bieber's new video "Boyfriend" remind you of Justin Timberlake's video for "Like I Love You." Ironically, as mentioned days ago, people are stating Bieber sounds like Timberlake on the track. As stated before, Timberlake took a lot from Bieber's mentor Usher, for his own career.

Now Usher is taking from Timberlake for Bieber. Actually, he took Bieber from Timberlake who almost signed him. If you guys thought Timberlake got mad before, just wait until he sees the video. Will Timberlake pitch another hissy fit. I can only hope (LOL).

As the Judiciary Report was the first to report months ago, Bieber's label has been trying to give him a more mature sound and image, in anticipation of his 18th birthday, which occurred recently. However, based on feedback, many people think he still looks younger than his age. It's probably because he's pretty. That's right, he's a pretty boy. When you have a young face and overly groomed hair, that will happen.

Justin Bieber said he does not mind people thinking he sounds like Timberlake, but he does not think there are similarities in their voices. Um, you sound like him on that song.

There have been claims online that pop singer, Justin Bieber, 18 sounds like fellow popster, Justin Timberlake, 30, on his new song "Boyfriend." I heard the song yesterday and have to agree, he does sound like Timberlake, who dissed him on the television show "Saturday Night Live" (Justin Timberlake Slams Justin Bieber: Put A Wig On A Chipmunk And Train Him To Act Like A Black Man).

It's funny, as R&B singer, Usher, who is Bieber's mentor, has official replaced Timberlake with Bieber, much to the former's annoyance. Was this Usher's revenge, for Timberlake taking his crown several years ago. However, it's indisputable at this point that Bieber has become the bigger music star.
    

Side Bar: On the song "Boyfriend" is the Bieber really singing about eating "Fondue." How cheesy (get the joke?).

Jessica Biel may have only just started to flash her engagement ring around town, but that doesn't mean the 31-year-old actress has kept her excitement about becoming Mrs. Justin Timberlake quiet.

One of Biel's closest confidantes has been none other than her New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day film director Garry Marshall, who told Us Weekly he's spoken at length with Biel about her happy news.

"We talk about it a lot. I hope it all works out -- they are terrific kids," Marshall told Us at Sunday's Night of 100 Stars Gala in Beverly Hills, Calif. of Biel and Timberlake. "I love them both. I'm happy for her."

Getting engaged during a snowboarding trip in the Jackson, Wyoming mountains in December 2011, Biel and Timberlake plan to tie the knot next summer. "Monique Lhuillier is her No. 1 choice for the dress," the insider hints to Us of the beloved designer, whose dresses have been worn by such A-list brides as Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, Vanessa Minnillo and Shannen Doherty.

A Timberlake source confirms that the singer/actor has "never been happier" with the New Year's Eve actress. "He knew it was the right time to propose."

JT RULES --- Last night's season finale of Saturday Night Live hosted by Justin Timberlake with musical guest Lady Gaga scored a 7.0 household rating/21 share in the metered markets. That was up 21% from last season's finale and the highest overnight rating for an SNL season closer since May 15, 2004, when a telecast hosted by the Olsen Twins (!) with musical guest J-Kwon (!) also averaged a 7.0 rating. The last time a season finale of SNL scored a higher rating was more than a decade ago, on May 20, 2000, when the show hosted by Jackie Chan with musical guest Kid Rock posted a 7.3 rating. Timberlake was nothing short of fantastic; singing, dancing, acting … he really is a triple-threat. Makes one wonder just how big he really could get. Actually, as the show progressed, he kept getting better and better. His follow up Digital Short with Andy Samberg, following up Dick In a Box and Motherlover, 3-Way was just as good, although I prefer the first two. This now-classic moment with Samberg is something SNL definitely needed and over-lord Lorne Michaels must be thanking his lucky-stars. They're current, trendy and oh, so funny. Susan Sarandon also had a guest-spot. He also shone on The Barry Gibb Talk Show with Jimmy Fallon as Barry Gibb was just flawless and showed yet again what a phenomenal talent Fallon is. For a Bee Gee-devotee as I, this was just so rich and out-and-out funny. Great, great execution. Also popping up with Bradley Cooper playing himself on the skit In The Cage ...just out and out funny. Gaga was good, but I must admit that for me, the excitement factor is coming down real fast. Her songs are terrific, but there's so much going on onstage, that it severely detracts from the music. Her first number, which began so promisingly with just her voice and piano, soon evolved into a numbing dance number wherein there were so many people on stage, it was tough to keep tract of all the action. Just too busy Ms. Gaga. Of course she performed her “Born This Way,” which was definitely serviceable but made this writer yearn for Madonna and her “Express Yourself.” I don't know what to say about Gaga, other than she's got herself in a pickle! Great SNL ...one of their best episodes in years!

ET --- Mary Hart, whose final Entertainment Tonight show aired last Friday, was surprised for her sendoff by her former co-hosts Bob Goen (1993-2004), Rob Weller (1984-1986) and, John Tesh (1982-1996). Hart has left the show after 29 years and will be replaced by Nancy O'Dell, who'll join co-anchor Mark Steines (who was also on hand for the celebration). Ron Hendren, Hart's first ET co-host, sent a special taped message (he now lives in North Carolina). Hendren co-hosted with Hart from 1981-1984. Hart got an added surprise when Natalie Cole serenaded her with a rendition of “Unforgettable” (made famous by her dad, Nat King Cole). ET was the first of the celebrity-infotainment shows and really paved the way for everything else; everything from Access Hollywood to TMZ to this very column! There are rumors that Hart was forced out, but, whatever the reason, she was the first and a vibrant force in the burgeoning infotainment wars. I myself, remember well working with her many, many times and found her nothing but a total professional. We'll miss you Mary big time!

TV NOTES --- With the TV Upfronts done and canceled-TV shows littered virtually everywhere, last week and this week, many series finish up with their season finales or final shows. NBC's The Event, which was the network's great BIG hope last September finishes its run tonight with an episode that quite frankly has so much to wrap up, I can't wait to see it. Truth be told, I watched the series and became strangely invested in it; even after a multi-month break over the holidays ... usually the kiss of death for a show. One critic quipped that this was the most expensive cast on TV … ever! True, it had the terrific Blair Underwood; Hal Holbrook; Jason Ritter and, even the great Virginia Madsen; who virtually disappeared after several episodes; but it never quite caught the public's consciousness. Let's face it, alien travel and alien abduction is always a tough call, even though several forthcoming series, like Falling Skies and movies like Super 8 are all about that. I must admit it was a great effort, but somehow you knew after the first few shows, it was a goner. Simon Baker, so tremendous in CBS' The Mentalist wrapped up his third season in brilliant fashion, with a 2-hour show wherein he finally came face-to-face with his nemesis Red John; essayed by Bradley Whitford, of all people. It was a crackerjack episode that contained several brilliant twists, but the ending … was just superlative. Baker is nothing short of terrific and in this episode he didn't disappoint at all. The character was left hanging in a way … but, a quick think shows it'll all be resolved in episode one of the next season. Actually, the best finale of all. Well done! Mark Harmon's NCIS is stronger than ever and their finale was once again terrifically well done and acted. Again, several amazing twists and resolutions and a touching funeral made up a great episode. Harmon's been around for years, anyone remember him in Flamingo Road ... but, this current role is sensational for him. Again, well done all! Also, CBS finally brought back Flashpoint on Friday nights. Shot in Toronto, the show is great. Check it out!

ELAINE'S --- This Thursday is the last call for Elaine's. The new owner of the famed Upper East Side boite and watering hole is closing the business for good; only six months after its legendary owner passed away. The two buildings the restaurant occupies are now up for sale for $9.5 million. “This is one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make,” says Diane Becker, Elaine's longtime manager who inherited the restaurant. “But, the truth is, there is no Elaine's without Elaine.” I have to agree, but the truth is that it's the end of an era. Gore Vidal, Billy Joel, Alan Alda, Tom Wolfe; Al Pacino, Marty Bregman, Regis Philbin, Tony Danza, Jim Kerr, Carol Miller, Woody Allen, Steve Walter, Micky Dolenz, David Salidor, Roger Friedman, Bobby Zarem, Lore Noto, George Clooney, Graydon Carter; Anna Wintour, Barry Levinson … are the names I'll always associate with this place. Tragic, tragic loss. Here's one of the best quotes I've ever read on this place:“It’s kind of a cliche, but it really is the end of an era,” said Stephen McFadden, a regular at Elaine’s and an owner of another bar, McFadden’s Saloon, at 800 Second Avenue. “It was a full-blooded clubhouse. There isn't a place in town that I think comes close to it right now, and as hard as the waiters and everyone tried to keep it going, it was like a wonderful candle that went out.” They'll never be another place like Elaine's ... I'm lucky to have been there. RIP.

BILLBOARD SCORES --- Watched a bit of the 2011 BILLBOARD AWARDS and was fully brought up to speed on what's hot and what's not. Great to see Rihanna, U2, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Cee Lo Green, Matthew Morrison, Britney Spears, and Neil Diamond properly represented. Diamond was inducted as the Icon award and sang out the show with a mix-up of Sweet Caroline and America.Yes, an odd sight it was.
