 Kenneth Cole

Today the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, unveiled its latest collaboration with fashion designer and longtime activist Kenneth Cole as part of the designer’s AWEARNESS campaign. This collaboration aims to encourage Americans to support LGBT equality at the polls this election cycle.

"As Americans, our vote is our voice,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese. "By lending his voice and retail prowess to the fight for LGBT equality, Kenneth Cole is not only sparking a conversation about increased voter participation, but also reminding Americans that equality is always in style. We are grateful for Kenneth Cole’s continued support for the LGBT community and his commitment to full equality in America.”

“Our brand’s message next season is a call to action to, ‘wear your voice,’ said Kenneth Cole. “In support of HRC, we ask: ‘where’s your voice?’”

Public support for LGBT equality is at an all-time high in America, yet many elected officials have yet to fully embrace and advocate for fairness and equality for LGBT people. This is the fourth collaboration between HRC and Kenneth Cole. One-hundred percent of the net-proceeds from the sale of this limited-edition T-shirt will be donated to HRC. “Vote Equality” signage will appear in all 97 of the Kenneth Cole retail and outlet stores nationwide during the month of June. In addition, Kenneth Cole stores in three key markets will host events benefiting HRC on June 23rd from 4-6pm, with 20 percent of the night’s proceeds going to HRC.

Events will take place at the following retail locations:

NYC, Fifth Ave Store

Philadelphia, Walnut Street

San Francisco, San Francisco Centre

Retailing for $35, the limited-edition t-shirt comes in sizes XS-2X and will be available at HRC Stores in Provincetown, MA; San Francisco, CA; Washington, D.C.; and shop.hrc.org.

Part of HRC's designer collaboration series, Kenneth Cole joins a long list of designers including Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Perry Ellis, Alex & Chloe, Nike and American Apparel all committed to pushing equality and fashion forward.

THE STARS LOVE TO WEAR DOMENICO VACCA

****
TIMES SQUARE GOSSIP FASHION
****

Domenico Vacca

What do Jeremy Piven, Denzel Washington, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Usher, Glenn Close, Renee Zellweger and Ashton Kutcher have in common? They all rely on world-renowned designer Domenico Vacca to land them on the “best dressed” list.

Born in Andria, a city in the South of Italy, Domenico Vacca learned the principles of Italian sartorial style at a very young age from his grandmother, who was considered one of the finest seamstresses in Italy. Despite a successful career in law, Vacca found himself repeatedly drawn back to the fashion industry. He noticed that there was a distinct lack of true Italian clothing in the United States; most Italian brands would alter their styles or fit upon sending their designs overseas. Vacca wanted to create a label that used the finest craftsmanship and materials and was exclusively Italian in both fit and style. This dream was realized in 2001, when the Domenico Vacca label made its debut on New York City’s prestigious Fifth Avenue.

Vacca’s brand immediately gained the attention of the ever-critical fashion world. Stars loved the meticulous craftsmanship of the garments and its contemporary Italian designs. In fact, Domenico Vacca is one of three brands in the world to completely handcraft each and every garment. The label has a team of more than 250 master tailors and seamstresses in Naples, Italy creating the fashions seen in the exclusive boutiques. Domenico Vacca also offers its customers a unique custom order program that allows clients to choose from more than 2,000 fabrics for apparel as well as a wide variety of exotic skins in an assortment of colors for accessories – including shoes, handbags, belts, luggage and furniture. In addition, the New York City boutiques boast VIP rooms in which high-profile clientele are able to consult on their orders and purchases with the knowledgeable and professional staff.

Since its establishment, the Domenico Vacca brand has expanded to three distinct lines: Domenico Vacca, Vacca, and DV Denim. Domenico Vacca is the brand’s original collection and features classic Italian sartorial design with a contemporary twist. This line is a complete 360 degree collection that encompasses all categories of men and women’s fashion, accessories, luggage, and more. The Vacca line, headed by Vacca’s wife and Creative Director, Julie Vacca, is a more fashion-forward collection that appeals toward contemporary women who want modern Italian style. This innovative line has shown in both Bryant Park and Lincoln Center during New York City’s September and February Fashion Weeks. The DV Denim collection takes the versatile material of denim and adds Domenico Vacca’s signature craftsmanship to create a unique collection of ten different styles and washes. The denim features exclusive detailing such as Vacca’s signature pocket design and designer fabric lining.

The Domenico Vacca brand is now well known throughout Hollywood and around the world. The label has opened select boutiques in some of the world’s most famous cities, and has provided garments for several popular television shows such as HBO’s Entourage and Direct TV’s Damages, as well as more than 40 movie wardrobes in the past five years, including Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, The Lincoln Lawyer, August Rush, American Gangster, The Kite Runner, Inside Man and Stranger Than Fiction. Despite his success, Vacca never compromises the craftsmanship he has dedicated to his garments and manages to keep the brand’s integrity intact.

Marc Bouwer With Selita Ebanks

The famed SoHo house in lower Manhattan was aglow with good energy, excited celebrities, and of course, beautiful clothes on Sunday night in celebration of the viewing of fashion's first-ever 3D film by New York-based designer Marc Bouwer. In lieu of a traditional fashion show, Bouwer chose instead to create a film that all could enjoy, featuring supermodel Selita Ebanks.

Decked out in a dress by Marc Bouwer, jewels by Simon G-also seen in the show-and arriving in a Volkswagen Touareg, Selita was certainly the brightest star of the evening. Industry friends and colleagues who came out to support the starlet included Star Jones, David Spade, Johnny Weir, Deborah Cox, Anastasia Khozzisova, Mark Indelicato, actress Reshma Shetty, actress Anika Noni Rose, and Bravo! Housewives Dina Manzo, Teresa Giudice, Jacqueline Laurita, Alex McCord with husband Simon, Mary Amons, and Sonja Morgan.

It was a no-brainer for Bouwer when it came to deciding on his leading lady, the stunning supermodel Selita Ebanks. "I thought it was high time that an African American model was featured on this level for a major fashion week event," the designer said. The red carpet was a veritable runway of Bouwer's designs, with celebs including Alex McCord, Mary Amons, Reshma Shetty, Anika Noni Rose, Star Jones, Teresa Giudice, several models, and of course Selita, wearing dresses from current and past collections. A fan of Marc's for years, Star Jones said, "Marc Bouwer has been dressing me since I was 250 pounds. His clothes are sexy and beautiful and make all women feel good."

As the night of glamour drew to a close, Selita wasn't the only celeb who departed in a stylish new Volkswagen Touareg. Alex McCord, Star Jones, and Deborah Cox were among others. "I had the best ride here in the Volkswagen Touareg," Selita said as she was leaving. "That moonroof is sexy!" Sexier still was the first-ever fashion film shown in 3d. Featuring makeup by Smashbox, jewelry by Simon G, and most importantly, the newest designs from beloved designer Marc Bouwer.
