Purity Cocktails were served at the MOCA Gala 2011, An Artist's Life Manifesto, directed by Marina Abramovic, at MOCA Grand Avenue in Los Angeles. Will Ferrell and Rosanna Arquette enjoyed the Purity Conceptualist while Rose McGowan and Minnie Driver were among those enjoying the Purity Minimalist. The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), had commissioned legendary performance artist Marina Abramovic to serve as the artistic director for the 2011 MOCA Gala. The gala commenced with cocktails followed by an unforgettable, participatory evening of performance and music entitled An Artist's Life Manifesto, in which Marina re-enacted some of her most famous performance art pieces as well as served as a master of ceremonies. Under the direction of Marina Abramovic, gala guests enjoyed a series of participatory activities as they experienced the installations, deco, dinner, and musical entertainment including a special finale performance by music and popular culture icon Deborah Harry.
