Legendary singer Phoebe Snow, who sang the famed song "Poetry Man," died Tuesday in Edison, New Jersey, after suffering a brain hemorrhage 15 months ago. She was only 58. A native New Yorker, Snow got her start playing the Greenwich Village clubs in the early '70s, performing folk and pop, as well as jazz, blues. Her album rose to No. 4 with the big hit "Poetry Man." A huge tour with Paul Simon followed.
The two-time Grammy Award nominee released 16 albums, with her most recent one was Phoebe Snow Live in 2008. She recorded sporadically in her later years but performed about 50 shows a year before taken ill at her New Jersey home.
