KEITH COLLINS FILMING "THE MEAT PUPPET"

 Keith Collins

(1. meat puppet; (noun)
person(s) that have no will of their own; somebody that lets others control them. Another name for a human being, especially one who doesn't think for him/herself, has no soul and is therefore controlled by others).

Currently filming in New Jersey is this year’s new bone chilling horror/thriller “The Meat Puppet”. From the mind of Award Winning Actor Keith Collins, along with Silver Phoenix Entertainment, Valenti Vision Films and the pen of NY Emmy Award Winning writer Joseph Pepitone and Billy Pepitone (“Stuck in the Middle”) comes a sadistic thrill fest, full of twists and turns, that is sure to give movie goers the fright of their lives.

A vain, successful playboy tortures and kills beautiful girls and uses them to make the perfect meal for his lavish dinner parties. Body parts, blood, torture, cannibalism and NO escape are a few ways to describe this clever new terrifying and psychologically damaging creep show.

“The Meat Puppet” tells the story of Andrew “Drew” Shelton who has it all – looks, money, women and an insatiable taste for human flesh. His vanity is only surpassed by his obsession with finding the perfect tasting meal and it has fueled his appetite for killing, preparing and cooking beautiful women. He throws lavish dinner parties and serves his guests his latest victim and one unlucky guest becomes the main course of his next get together. When a no-nonsense detective starts putting the pieces together, it leads to a game of cat and mouse that only increases the stakes. But is Drew the soul-less, cold-blooded killer that he appears to be? Or is he just the Meat Puppet for a more sadistic mind?

Directed by Joe Valenti (“Echelon 8”). Produced by Keith Collins. Produced & Executive Produced by Blaze Kelly Coyle and Joe Valenti. Written by Joseph & Billy Pepitone. With a well-rounded cast including many special appearances and STARRING: Gregg Valentino (TLC’s “The Man Whose Arms Exploded”), Billy Sample (“Former NY Yankee”), Brandon Ruckdashel (“Co-ed Confidential”), Geri Reischl (“Gunsmoke”,“The Brady Bunch Variety Hour” aka Fake Jan), Jason Prager (“Beauty and the Geek”), Billy Garcia (“Survivor”), Gary Garver (“formerly from the Howard Stern Show”), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (“Guns N Roses”), Erick Chopin (Winner of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”), Keith Collins (“Stuck in the Middle”, “BIdentity Crisis”), Jamie Reed-Kovac (Fury – “American Gladiators”), April Hunter (“WCW”, ”TNA”), Doug Bollinger (“Waltzing Anna”, “Mail Order Bride”),Theresa Galeani (“Cross the Line”, “I am Legend”), John Fields (“A-List DJ Unique”), Anastasia Smith (“NY Majesty Lingerie Football League”) and Faith Stanek (“Star Trek Phase 2 Web Series”).

THE TALK IS ABOUT 'AWAKE IN THE WOODS'

Awake In The Woods

The recent talk on the new film “Awake in the Woods” has gotten us so interested here at Times Square Gossip we had heard so much about this creepy film we had to do our research and see for ourselves what the talk is all about. Filmed in the small town of Marion, NY we looked into the legend of these woods. Sure enough after numerous phone calls to local establishments and random homeowners no one would go into the story. We hear the woods are haunted we have heard bout all the myths and the legends but now it raises curiosity how no one would speak about them. One town diner owner told us to never call again, another establishment told us not to look into this any further, a general store owner told us he would call the police if we called again while others just simply hung up on us when we even mentioned the Marion woods. After numerous attempts and many disconnects we couldn’t stop with our persistence and finally were able to get in contact with the filmmakers family members who let us watch what they had on tape. What we witnessed was so disturbing and shocking it completely left me speechless. I remember when the Blair Witch Project came out it was so spooky gave me nightmares for a week. Not knowing if Awake in the Woods is reality is the scariest point of the whole film, just really not knowing and as it progresses I couldn’t help to think that what was caught on film was actually happening to these people it was riveting, frightening and bone chilling. It is a definite must see but be prepared to be “awake” for along time after viewing this upcoming thriller. "Awake in the Woods" tells the story of small town friends Ronnie (Award winning producer Theresa Galeani), Derek (Award winning actor Keith Collins), and Tucker (Award winning filmmaker Nicholas Boise) growing up hearing stories of odd happenings, hunter's reporting strange occurrences, Parents warning their children not to go too far into the woods. But when 7 year-old Madelaine (Madelaine Kemp) does not heed her parents warning and goes missing in the woods these three friends search for the truth. Set out to document their findings, what happened to them is unexplainable. Only one of them was left wandering, alone, awake in the woods.

ACTOR KEITH COLLINS IS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE

Keith Collins As The Evil Todd Levy And Eric Etebari As Jesus

With apologies to Bruce Springsteen, I have seen the future of independent films and it is Stuck in the Middle!

The low budget independent film co-directed by Joseph Pepitone and Carlos Duhaime had its’ New York City Premiere last night at the Tribeca Grand Hotel and attracted a sell-out crowd that could not stop raving about the film long after the credits rolled.

The movie follows a lazy loser’s afterlife in Purgatory. At a little under ninety minutes, this movie has no slow spots. The brother writing team of Joseph and Billy Pepitone packed so many laughs, jokes and one liners into this film I am sure the audience missed many of them laughing at the lines that proceeded it.

The ensemble cast was very strong with everyone getting a moment to shine. Stephen Fontana held his own in his first starring role up against some very accomplished actors. Penelope Lagos plays his beautiful love interest and radiates off the screen like a starlet. When Fontana claims to have a swimmer’s body, Lagos lightening quick response of “Yeah, Shamu” was timed and delivered like a true film comedian.

Cash Tilton was a great find for this movie. His turn as the demoted, butt kissing St. Peter was a unique take on Jesus’ main apostle and his facial expressions alone had me rooting for him to get back into Heaven.

While Stuck in the Middle is filled with some salty language, most of it is spewed by Jeanette Roxborough as a Purgatory lifer who has lost all hope of getting to the Promised Land. Hearing such words coming from such a beautiful woman’s mouth was a great juxtaposition that Roxborough nailed.

As for the villain of the film, Keith Collins falls into the love to hate category, the sign of a great bad guy. Whether he is being punk’d by Fontana and Lagos or scheming behind everyone’s back to buy Purgatory, Collins manic, chaotic character is hysterical and evil all at the same time. The chemistry between Collins and Eric Etebari as Jesus is as good as it gets. Etebari is in full Jesus Christ Superstar mode as the Savior whose love of golf rivals only his quest for perfect abs. Yes, Jesus loves golf and hits the gym in Stuck in the Middle and Etebari is devilishly good as the Son of Man.

If I had one complaint of this film it is Jack Mulcahy. The complaint is that Mulcahy didn’t have enough screen time! Playing a Ronald Reagan impersonator, I knew every time he was in a scene he would own it. The audience seemed to anticipate the next words out of his mouth would be a gem.

Even small role players delivered big laughs. Evonne Walton, Samantha Cole, Oscar Avila, David Rabadi and young Abigail Summa all add to pivotal scenes throughout the film. And stay for the credits for a few outtakes and a cameo by HBO’s Telling Nicholas star Thanbir Ahmed who wraps the whole movie up with one line.

The premiere was a great success for the entire Stuck in the Middle family and I predict great things for this little film that can! As the cast and crewed than celebrated at Lair Lounge for the after party, I had a feeling we will be hearing from all involved very soon.

INDEPENDENT FILM 'STUCK IN THE MIDDLE'

****
STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WILL
LEAVE YOU STUCK TO THE SCREEN
****

Stuck In The Middle Cast

Stuck in the Middle, a new independent film written by Joseph and Billy Pepitone and directed by Joseph Pepitone & Carlos Duhaime had it's premiere at the Hoboken International Film Festival on June 4th. Executive Produced by film veteran Jeff Quinlan (Bare Knuckles), this slacker comedy about life in Purgatory is laugh out loud funny with a brilliant, cutting edge original script and a terrific cast that makes this a must see.

The story follows mailroom slacker Michael Cheevers (Stephen Fontana) through life, his bizarre accidental death and then his afterlife. After being assigned to the mailroom in Purgatory by a demoted St. Peter (played perfectly by Cash Tilton), Michael runs into a cast of dysfunctional characters. (Jeanette Roxborough) is the foul mouthed secretary laying hysterical, vicious insults on Michael throughout the film with a flawless deadpan delivery and (Jack Mulcahy) steals every scene he is in as the drunk, senile, Ronald Reagan obsessed Human Resources manager. The object of Michael's affection is prank loving Brooke Lynne Monroe (beautiful newcomer Penelope Lagos) and together they try to stop the evil Todd Levy (played to a psychotic, hilarious tee by Keith Collins) who is trying to buy Purgatory and close it down so he can build condos for rich "Heaveners." Oh and he's also Jesus' agent!! And Jesus has never been portrayed like this. (Eric Etebari's) turn as Jesus is larger than life, rock-star great and his entrance into the film brought the house down.

Every scene is filled with rapid fire dialogue that is so funny, I found myself missing the next line because of the audience's laughter. The highlight among a movie filled with highlights is a gym scene that culminates with a historical, biblical pose down that brings back memories of classic Mel Brooks comedies. Fontana and Lagos have a good chemistry and as their relationship grows with every new prank and all night drinking sessions, you find yourself rooting for the lovable loser and flirtatious beauty all the way up to the surprise ending.

Stuck in the Middle is what low budget indie films haven't been since Kevin Smith's Clerks - edgy, risky and unapologetic. The writing is sharp, crude and intelligent all at the same time and the performances of the entire cast from the veterans to the newcomers are flawless.

Look for Stuck in the Middle this year. This is the indie film everyone will be talking about.

STUCK IN THE MIDDLE - Starring Stephen Fontana, Penelope Lagos, Eric Etebari, Keith Collins, Jack Mulcahy, Jeanette Roxborough, Cash Tilton, Carter Roy. KEITH COLLINS PLAYS IN 'THE COFFEE KLASH'

Samantha Artese With Wynn Van Dusen, Keith Collins,
Julia Weldon And Blanche Baker

Recently we were able to visit the set of the latest film by Mattioli Productions, “The Coffee Klash” at The Cup in Wantagh, New York. We even got the opportunity to speak with the film’s director Jana Mattioli, who had nothing but praise to give the actors on set. From what we saw, she had every right to be proud of these standout performances!

Mattioli could very well be considered the voice of the LGBT community in the independent film world. Her controversial courtroom drama exploring gay civil rights, “An Affirmative Act,” opened at theatres nationwide in April to much positive acclaim. Add to that her comedy, “Bidentity Crisis,” hitting festivals in June and it is obvious that this edgy lesbian filmmaker is definitely making her mark. The May 2011 issue of The Advocate has included Mattioli in their select list of “Forty People Under 40 to Look Out For”.

In this unique coming out and coming of age film, “The Coffee Klash,” Mattioli’s smart comedic sensibility is demonstrated quite brilliantly. This film was written by the hysterical comedy duo Talia Gonzalez and Bisanne Masoud and is slated for release in July, 2011. The creative casting of real life mother/daughter team Blanche Baker and Wynn Van Dusen made for some exciting choices and extreme authenticity.

The film focuses on Stephanie (Wynn Van Dusen) and her mother Gayle (Blanche Baker; Emmy Award Winner, Sixteen Candles). To say that Gayle micromanages every detail of her daughter’s life would be an extreme understatement. She thinks that her daughter needs new eyebrows, to stop eating animal flesh, and to stop “half assing” it as a lesbian. The film takes place in a coffeehouse where Stephanie is not only preparing to come out to her mother, but also to introduce her to her new girlfriend, Mary Ann (Samantha Artese). Rounding out the talented cast is Award Winner Keith Collins as Jamie, Julia Weldon as Pike, and Steve Wolf as Chase.

This film is produced by Mattioli Productions in association with Dreamcatcher Theatreworks. Executive Producers Robert and Joyce Borneman, Andrew Gause, Steve Wolf, and Heather Harris.

KEITH COLLINS HAS NEW 'BIDENTITY CRISIS'

Bidentity Crisis Cast

“BIdentity Crisis” the new comedy film by acclaimed Filmmaker & Director Jana Mattioli, has currently wrapped production and is slated to be released February of 2011. What makes this film special is that the plot for this story is not your typical heterosexual romance of boy meets girl but a whirlwind of misunderstanding, sexual confusion, and plenty of sexual tension.

There are people in this world who long to be someone great, someone important, someone of great moral value, however, Helen (Elissa Goldstein) and Phillip (Edvin Ortega) are not those people. Helen, originally from Chicago, longs to be the trendy Sex in the City NYC girl, where she can have her party and dance at it too. Although she is looking for love, she is looking in all the wrong places. Phillip, a good looking sensitive party boy, is just the right amount of Carrie Bradshaw excitement she needs after a break-up with her loser ex-boyfriend. After dating for over a month Helen's affection for Phillip comes to a halt in a comedic explosion at a coffee house.

True, Phillip is a party boy, but he likes to party with the boys. The thing is, Phillip is bisexual but says his light switch is on women. Helen wants to be trendy but is uncomfortable. These two put a new stamp on Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. With the help of Jaime (Keith Collins), a flamboyant waiter and a sassy cashier (Lisa Kapchinske) who loves to watch the drama unfold, “BIdentity Crisis” is a NY drama with a just the right twist of a gay lemon that tells a story of coming out of the closet...sort of.

BIdentity Crisis star Elissa Goldstein who recently made her film debut in the LGBT courtroom drama “An Affirmative Act” as the lead Samantha Succi. “An Affirmative Act” is to be theatrically released at the end of February of 2011. Most recently she played Renee Gause in “The Great Fight” which will be premiering at the Hoboken International Film Festival, June 2011.

BIdentity Crisis Co- star Keith Collins also in the soon to be released film “An Affirmative Act” made his film debut in 2004 with a powerful role in the theatrically released film “Games People Play-NY” by Emmy Award Winning Filmmaker James Ronald Whitney. Currently, Collins just took home the coveted award for “Best Supporting Actor” at the 2010 Down Beach Film Festival Atlantic City Cinefest for his work in the feature film “A Fight for Survival.” Since then Collins has landed a lead role in the production of the bone-chilling film “Awake in the Woods” and shares the screen with Goldstein in Ken Del Vecchio’s new film “The Great Fight.”

BIdentity Crisis is produced by Jana Mattioli and Dreamcatcher Theatreworks which is owned by Kelly and Kevin Feustel and Stars Elissa Goldstein, Edvin Ortega, Keith Collins & Lisa Kapchinske. Along with the help of Executive Producers Steve Wolf, Vanessa Bamber, Andrew Gause, Joyce & Robert Borneman. Written by Zach Rothman-Hicks BIdentity Crisis is sure to be one of the most sought after comedy hits of 2011!! For more information on BIdentity Crisis please visit www.BIidentityCrisis.com.

GALEANI AND COLLINS AWAKE IN THE WOODS

Awake In The Woods

The woods in Marion, NY have been home to the cast and crew of the new feature film "Awake in the Woods", a new collaboration between M.M. Mayhem Films, actor Keith Collins, and actress/producer Theresa Galeani for the month of November. This small farming community has been witnessing things a little out of the ordinary. Blood, body parts, and frozen animals cover much of the filming location and the actors are not shocked by the action happening on set. "It's not real.", Madelaine Kemp says of the death scenes taping today. This movie, even during daylight shoots, has gotten everyone talking about the things that go 'bump' in the day time as well as at night.

"Awake in the Woods" tells the story of small town friends Ronnie (Award Winning Producer Theresa Galeani), Derek (Award Winning Actor Keith Collins), and Tucker( Award Winning Filmaker Nicholas Boise) growing up hearing stories of odd happenings, hunter's reporting strange occurrences, parents warning their children not to go too far into the woods. But when 7 year-old Madelaine (Madelaine Kemp) does not heed her parents warning and goes missing in the woods these three friends search for the truth. Set out to document their findings, what happened to them is unexplainable. Only one of them was left wandering, alone, awake in the woods.

CHRIS MULKEY AND THE BOARDWALK EMPIRE

Star Chris Mulkey

Chris Mulkey With Trump Taj Mahal's Mary Moyer,

And Keith Collins

Model John Brand With Chris Mulkey

We had a great time at Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City the past few days. Besides club hopping with Village Peoples Randy Jones and our good friends Keith Collins and Theresa Galeani at Boogie Nights, we had a great time partying with Boardwalk Empire star Chris Mulkey. Just looking up Mulkey's credits on IMDB is like a who's who in television and movie history. This famed actor has done everything and to top it off, he has that old time star class, which is very hard to find these days.

As we sat down several nights in a row at our favorite watering hole The Irish Pub, just off the Boardwalk, Mulkey told me some interesting facts about the hit HBO series The Boardwalk Empire. First of all, he loves doing this show, which is great as you need to enjoy what you are doing in this business. Second, Mulkey told me the show is not filmed in Atlantic City but in studios in New York City. I was kinda of shocked. It seems that New Jersey would not give the show tax credits for filming on the famed Boardwalk, so they took it to The Big Apple, where they appreciate the film business. I really find this so stupid on New Jersey's part. First of all, Atlantic City like the rest of the country could use some more business. Tourists would flock to the hotels just to get a glimpse of these talented stars in action. The business generated would be huge and to think these stupid politicians would let a hit series like The Boardwalk Empire to be filmed elsewhere, is beyond reason. What were they thinking? The show is doing so good in the ratings, that it has been picked up for another season. I think it's time for New Jersey to wake up and become part of the Empire!
