KYLE GROOMS TO HEADLINE THE LAUGH TOUR

Kyle Grooms

Funnyman Kyle Grooms will headline The Laugh Tour, a comedy series featuring top comics, as it heads back to Jersey City on Saturday, February 4. The Jersey City resident, best known for his Comedy Central special and turns on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and The Chappelle Show, will be joined by Regina DeCicco, Troy Alan and emcee Rich Kiamco for the show. The event is presented by Art House Productions in its downtown Jersey City performance space, just off Hamilton Park.

“Kyle is an amazing headliner—sharp, intelligent, with gut-busting wit. He performed on last season's Celebrity Apprentice with another great comedian, Jessica Kirson, who headlined The Laugh Tour's very first show at Art House back in September 2010,” said Kiamco, who founded The Laugh Tour. “It is so exciting to be well into the second year of great live comedy shows right here in Jersey City. Everyone is always blown away when they discover this hidden gem of live comedy in our own backyard.” The event comes to Art House Productions in downtown Jersey City every other month.

Tickets are $15 in advance—$20 at the door—and include a 7 pm mixer. There is no drink minimum. Tickets may be purchased online HERE.

Art House Productions is wheelchair accessible and located at 1McWilliams Place, 6th floor, on the southeast corner of Hamilton Park. The event is made possible by SILVERMAN and Hamilton Square www.livingonthepark.com.

ABOUT THE COMICS

Best known for his hilarious half-hour stand-up special on Comedy Central and his guest appearances on VH1, NBC's Last Comic Standing and Chappelle's Show, Kyle Grooms started doing stand-up at a local Miami night club while holding down a day job as Art Director at the Spanish-language network Univision. After a few years honing his act in Miami, Kyle said goodbye to Spanish TV and returned to New Jersey, where he was born. Within just a few months, Kyle had become a regular on the New York City comedy scene. Kyle has performed at New York's top comedy clubs, including Carolines, Comic Strip, Comedy Cellar and Gotham. He delivers an honest and intelligent view of the world and gives an intimate look into his life experiences growing up in the American melting pot. His first comedy CD, The Legend of the Jersey Devil, was named one of iTunes' Top 100 Comedy CDs of 2009. Kyle has been featured on several television, radio and Internet broadcasts, including P-Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy, Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, The Byron Allen Show, BET Comic View, Red Carpet Fashion, and for international flavor, Le Grande Journal in France.

Regina DeCicco spent many years in television behind the scenes before deciding to take the plunge into the world of stand-up comedy. After five seasons at Saturday Night Live in the Design Department and one season at Whoopi, Whoopi Goldberg's NBC sitcom, she realized the time had come, and you can now find her at Comic Strip Live, Stand-Up NY, Comix and Broadway Comedy Club. She won "Lower Hudson Valley's Funniest Person" and was selected to be a part of Boston's Women in Comedy Festival. Regina studied improvisational comedy at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in New York and currently performs, writes and films sketches with her all female group, "Candy Slice." She is developing an original idea for a Broadway musical with writing partner, Lindsey Turner, and a song and lyrics teams comprised of Gary Adler, the musical genius behind Altar Boys and Phoebe Kreutz.

Troy Alan is a NYC-based comedian, actor and writer. He performs stand up at clubs all around the Northeast, and he hosted a night at the 2011 Jersey Shore ComedyFest. Prior to beginning his stand-up career, Troy performed improvisational comedy in Denver and Washington, DC. Recently, Troy made his theatrical debut as Vincentio in a hillbilly-style remake of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Though critics applauded Troy's performance, calling it a "breath of fresh air," the other cast members were not so impressed. He is proud to have amassed $100,000 in student loan debt prior to embarking on a comedy career otherwise, "economic hardship deferments" would be hard to justify. Troy is sometimes sophisticated, sometimes puerile, sometimes humane, other times completely insensitive, mostly entertaining, always underpaid.

Rich Kiamco is a force of nature that rips across the stage leaving laughter, tears and applause in his wake. His comedy career began with a sewing machine while attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. He began performing stand-up at campus events and then became the costume designer for comedian Judy Tenuta. He then started performing with Judy as her “love slave” backup dancer, appearing in venues across the country, in Las Vegas and on The Howard Stern Show and he’s never left the stage since. His one man show, Unaccessorized, received the Overall Excellence Award at the NY International Fringe Festival and Best Solo Show at the Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival. Rich has performed on campuses and venues across the USA, Canada, China and the Philippines. He has been a guest on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s OutQ: Focus Group, was featured on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and co-hosted the WE channel’s 3 Men And A Chick Flick. Visit Rich's site HERE.
